Starting with v2.5.0.0, MuvAudio2 supports recording from the following additional filetypes:

".m4a", ".mp4", ".ogg", ".flac", ".spx", ".mpc", ".ape", ".wv", ".ofr", ".ofs", and ".tta"

MuvAudio detects which plugins you have installed to determine the ability to record from additional filetypes not natively supported by Windows Media Player. Below, you will find links to the different plugins that will add support for these additional files.

To allow MuvAudio to get the file information (artist, title, etc.) and embed into into the file tags, you will need to install one additional plugin. If you do not, your files will be named the original filename without tag information. Please install the plugin from below and make sure that you manually open Windows Media Player and add the files that you are going to record, to the Windows Media Player Library. When you add a file to the playlist in MuvAudio2, it should now show the additional information, if the file contained it originally.

We are providing this information for users who have requested that we add support for additional filetypes that Windows Media Player can play through the use of plugins. These plugins are not supported by MuvEnum.

Known Issues:
  • All files with the above file extensions will report as 5:00 (5 minutes) long when added to the MuvAudio playlist. This will make the estimated completion time inaccurate. This is mearly a cosmetic issue and all files will still record the length of the original file.
